This is 5 star diner food. Amble portions, fresh quality cooking, wow. After a year and change of having this place bookmarked I finally made it here. IT's close to work, like 2 miles close, so it's pretty much nothing short of a tragedy that I haven't come more often, or until now. One can see by my photos that I pretty much came at least three times a week after I discovered the glory that is Antonio's Cafe & Grill. Going to do some highlights, BREAKFAST: Yea, I mean, it's not trendy brunch in Ferndale , but it's not trying to be. For example, corn beef hash, out of a can but cooked perfectly crisp and not a trace of grease on my plate and barely a sheen on the hash itself. Sausage gravy w/ biscuits is classic comfort food, and the sausage patties are off the charts. You MUST try some sausage patties with your breakfast. LUNCH: Ah-mazing lamb gyro. Great flavor, they crunch the pita bread on the flat top perfectly and the tzatziki is on point. Great fried fish sandwich and oven roasted turkey rueben as well. Coney dogs are nothing to squawk at, and I enjoy a good natural casing. Monday is coney day for $1.59 each, that's on the cheap. Two will fill you up! There's always daily specials on the whiteboard to be had. . Other notable items: Homemade chicken noodle soup and split pea with ham. You must try the split pea. Dooo it. DO IT NOW.

So this place is decent, small, yet nicer than most dive diners... The food is mediocre and not very impressive but it is cooked well and served promptly. For the price it meets expectations. The pancakes reminded me of Denny's, the eggs and bacon reminded me of Waffle House. This place feels like an updated Waffle House, with the addition of Mediterranean foods like gyros, kabob, Greek salad and pitas. The "Waffle House" feel is neither a compliment nor an insult, it simply informs the reader of what to expect. This place is clean (not like Waffle House clean where even if they soaked it in bleach it somehow still feels dirty), with typical diner ambiance. I don't know how previous reviewers could give this 4 stars, let alone 5? Unless they love the tiny diner experience coupled with half-interested waitstaff. Or they just have never experienced stellar food. Most everything is just good enough to eat without complaining, however, with the ratings this place had received, I expected much more.

Great little diner! The omelettes are huge and so are the salads but the real winner is the sausage patties that taste like they're made in house alongside the home made biscuits and gravy! They get pretty busy around breakfast/lunch time on the weekend so keep that in mind when you go but overall the food here is really good and priced fairly so I'd recommend this place! :)

This was good but not great place. The food is typical for a small diner. Staff was not particularly friendly but certainly not hostile. I ordered a Club Sandwich which was good. I have gone by here quite often and finally was curious enough to stop on a Monday. They have a sign in their window for a special price Coneys on Mondays, which it was, and I wanted that but since it was also a holiday. they would not give me that price. All things considered, not one of my better experiences and my wife does not want to return.

My sister and I wandered in looking for a breakfast place. We found one. A great place to have an All American breakfast, sit and talk. The server and host make sure you stay coffee tended and happy. This is definitely a place to put in the rotation of a weekend breakfast out.

Average food. Portions are big usually. One server is excellent. Rest couldn't care. Owner is very for friendly. Some items bland. Kids like pancakes. Eggs OK omelettes always have Velveeta - ugh. Unless it says something else. Lemon soup is canned as most things. Crowds and high sodium. Family friendly except for staff.

Unbelievable. Been enjoying this little gem of a diner on a regular basis for the past 3 years and it has gotten better than ever. The food is simple American comfort fare. Large portions, inexpensive, and full of flavor. Breakfast this morning consisted of pancakes and ham, French toast and ham endless cups of really good coffee, all for $13.52 including tax. Talk about value. The daily specials, the salads and the sandwiches are amazing. At the top of the list sits the Rueben. If you are looking for a great sandwich with a huge amount of juicy corned beef topped with grilled sourkrout, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing, forget the delis and get one at Antonios.

Sit at the bar for faster service. Food service is fast and courteous. It gets busy at lunch so come in early or later than twelve. They have daily specials, and their servings are big. Good food for the value.

Owner's name is Pete. He is a great guy and a very gracious host. They do not charge extra for egg white omelettes nor when u add or alter ingredients in a specific omelette. I feel very comfy there and love to support the family-owned crew. I love the Mexican and the Greek omelets. They also peel their own potatoes!!!!!!

This is a hidden gem! This is my favorite place to attend. My favorite is to sit at the counter and see Pete moving at high speeds preparing the food. The food is great and the prices are more than reasonable. If your on this side of town, I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to dine at.

I love local coney shops/ diners.. And they're all over around here. I sat at the counter by the grill.. Helped me decide on the Corned Beef Reuben. It's was delicious! Thick piled meat that had wonderful flavor, perfect sauerkraut (not too sweet or tangy, and juicy but not soggy), and a good balance of dressing and cheese. It's on basic toast, but really, something fancier would probably take away from the great balance of the fillings! From watching the food come off the line, i've decided next I want to try the Greek Salad which is loaded with toppings and feta cheese and the Grilled Chicken Pita.. I'm normally leery of flavorless chicken, but what I saw being cooked looked crazy flavorful and like it had marinated for hours! The prices are good, maybe a little more than some similar places, but really still quite cheap. The place is small, so if you're going at a busy time you may have to wait for a seat. We got right in though. Our server was OK, but in such a busy small place I don't expect super friendly, chatty, servers.. They're just trying to get things done fast. Nothing wrong with that, just not over the top stellar.

Small hole in a wall restaurant/diner located off of auburn and crooks. I live right next to this place, and came here for breakfast one time with a buddy of mine. Quality comfort food, and great breakfast. Definitely check this place out.

Great service and amazing breakfast! The place is awesome, quick, and delicious. Quantity and quality of food beats most places I have been to around here, and all for a solid price point!

We've lived in the area for over six years, and I've driven by this place hundreds of times but never ventured inside until a couple of weeks ago. Waiting so long was a big mistake! We went for breakfast. My wife and I had omelets, me the Western and her the Greek. We both agreed that they were probably the best omelets we've ever had. My wife noticed that they actually take the ingredients and grill them up before putting them in the eggs. Whatever they did, it was superb! Prices were great, service was excellent and I can't wait to go back.

This place is an independent coney type diner. It's small but service is fast and efficient. My wife and i usually get breakfast here, which is pretty good for this sort of place. They have the typical omelet/griddle selections, plus some different things like strawberry pancakes. I've never been disappointed with breakfast. Their coneys are pretty good too. Much better than the chains around here, I think. Other than that i've had a sandwich or two, like the reuben, which were nothing extraordinary but still good. Recently they became 100% nonsmoking, which is a huge plus because it's small inside and even one person smoking was annoying. In summary, this place is good, cheap, quick, and smoke free. Great place for lunch when you're in a hurry.

Great old school local diner. Great for a quick breakfast. Wait staff could smile more. Good food, good prices and I really like the atmosphere. Give this place a try!
